It's a natural fact that time repeats itself, as we are now witnessing some of the greatest years to ever touch the city of Memphis, TN. Much like its predecessor in Egypt, Memphis is arguably the unofficial capitol of Tennessee. From the food, to the music and the colorful personalities of the city, Memphis has always been a marvel to locals and especially visitors. Memphis has an energy unmatched by any other which breeds a city of hustlers so it is to no surprise that attribute is also displayed in our 2021-22 Memphis Grizzlies team. This is the same energy that inspired CEO Step to birth the brand Memphis Made It. Furthermore, ever since the Grizzlies came to Memphis via NBA as the first of "the big four" major sports leagues to touch the city in 2001, the Grizzlies have served as a cornerstone for this city's advancement in the right direction. For 20+ years the Memphis Grizzlies have hosted fundraisers, community walks, and other community driven events. Since the turn of the century, The Grizzlies have been a positive representation for Memphis's hope for positive advancement, whether it be for the city's economy or the people's morale. With the recent years of increased violence as well as the devastating Covid-19 pandemic, the Memphis Grizzlies have turned into Memphis's most coveted distraction from the harsh realities that plague the city. Since 2001, the city has been moving on a different type of time as local hustlers have now reached icon status. Not to mention, an overwhelmingly amount of urban influence around the world comes from the City of Memphis. Memphis has a way of instilling 2 key components of success; 'Grit n Grind". From 'Three Six Mafia' to 'Yo Gotti'; From 'Justin Timberlake' to Pooh Shiesty, there are plenty of examples where these attributes have been implemented to gain success that takes a visionary to see. This in turn has influenced younger generations to be the same type of hustlers as the generation that came before them. About 10 seasons ago, Memphis learned what Grit 'n Grind was when they broke a 0-12 playoff run after facing the San Antonio Spurs to capture the city's first franchise playoff victory. As time has evolved and Memphis legends came and went we are now lucky enough to witness a new era of Grizzlies' intimidating prowess in the NBA. Spearheading the squad, we have 22 year old Ja Morant who was drafted in 2019 as the 2nd pick in the first round. It seems that ever since, Ja has been a part of Memphis, just as Memphis has been a part of the Dalzell, SC native. Anyone from Memphis knows that respect is not given, it's earned. In this 2021-22 season, Morant alongside with Grizzlies stars such as Adams, Bane, and Brooks have turned an empty forum into a jam-packed arena blistering with sound coming from one of the toughest crowds in sports. Even the downtown streets of Memphis have been at capacity since Grizzlies first started making way towards playoff territory.

The Grizzlies have brought the city together like no other brand or franchise by combining the city's three most favorite entertainment forms; fashion, basketball and rap music. Much like the many times we've witnessed budding star alliances such as Yo Gotti and Zach Randolph, we now get to see other artist such Moneybagg Yo and Big 30 dripping court-side beside the likes of Tee Morant (Ja's daddy) to support the league's second youngest team. More events than ever have been populating around the city based off the energy that is radiating around the Grizzlies. This is obviously the team that our city NEEDED. Who's to know what's to come in the future? What we do know is for now Ja Morant and the Next-Gen Memphis Grizzlies are high-profile contenders in a time where there is more talent than ever in the NBA. With such a good combination between the Grizzlies organization, its players, and the fans, Memphians are currently experiencing an energy never before felt or seen in our great city.
